Lightning

Monday night lightning struck our house and knocked out pretty much every piece of electric equipment in the house. I got a decent zap too. All my photos are safe, I have double backups of everything, but it was pretty scary when it happened. Thank god for insurance, hey?

If we don’t get back to you straight away this week, you now know the reason. We’re trying to read emails, but the iPhone can’t handle everything we need to do.

We won’t get internet back this week, since modem, airport, cables and other things need to be replaced.

And now I’m in Melbourne for a wedding here and we won’t be back until Monday.

Jac and I will try to connect tonight or tomorrow, but I thought I’d let you know what’s happened.

{james & rebecca} ~ wedding ~ melbourne

Rebecca and James got married in the tallest residential building in the Southern hemisphere, the 300m Eureka Tower in Melbourne. Little did they know their photographer has a pretty extreme fear of heights. I really don’t know how I made it through the night without throwing up all over the guests, but somehow I kept it together.  When in Melbourne, you have to shoot in some of the hidden laneways you find all around town. So we did. Twas a good day.

budgie smuggling dad

I’m shooting Alarna’s wedding tomorrow. This is from a wedding last year where she was one of the bridesmaids. I don’t think Tamsin’s dad will be there this time. Shame, really.

{nick & mel} ~ wedding ~ boonah

As we were driving to Nick and Mel’s wedding in Boonah, i turned to Jac and said, “I have a good feeling about today”. “You always do”, she replied. And I guess that’s true, but this time there was definitely something in the air.

Mel found her vintage 1950′s dress just a week or so before the wedding and Nick, who according to insider information “looks ridiculous” every time a camera is around, looked completely at ease all day.

Can you believe people actually pay me money to be part of amazing days like this?

Insane, I know.

blog love

Kathryn over at the fantastic wedding blog Snippet & Ink has featured Mel & Nick’s wedding this week. Among other things, you can read the story behind Mel’s dress. It’s well worth reading. Check it out here.

itsy bitsy spider

Noah likes my iPhone. He presses the buttons, calls people, erases my apps and creates havoc in my calendar. If you get a call early in the morning and hear someone panting heavily, it’s most likely Noah. I can promise you it’s not me. Well, the other day I downloaded an auto-tune app called “I am T-Pain”, but I never had a chance to play with it then. I have no idea how Noah figured out how to use it, but when I picked up my phone from the floor this morning, I noticed the app was open. This is what he recorded:

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Possibly the cutest thing ever.
