zUdio - Loving these, Jonas. Your backlighting is great as always!
sui - absolutely gorgeous.
brett maxwell - That vertical is badass.
Rebecca - I love the toning of the 3rd and 2nd last images, pretty pinks and blues!
alex - tu est vraiment trop bon!!
Maria Burnham - Such a beautiful pictures!
Kip - There is no favorite here.

Mark Tierney - My favourite blog post of yours for a while – love the one with the tree and the beautiful sky.
Cheers

Hannah - Hej Jonas,

The first two photos. Are you using a flash to light their clothes and hands? Or is the sun so weak at that time of day that you just can play around with aperture or use a grey-filter?

Jonas - @Human: Yeah, this is very close to sunset, so the light is not as harsh. I don’t use reflectors or flash.

I have stories to tell
It’s funny, really.
And a little sad.
As some of you know, I used to be a writer. Or I AM a writer. Once you start writing it’s pretty difficult to stop. And yet I did for some reason. I used to have a personal blog in Swedish, but after four years and a lot of exposure, I decided to let this blog be my main blog. And all of a sudden I didn’t know what to write. This is my shop front, my business, I’ve struggled with where to draw the line. I love writing about random stuff, but at the same time it feels a little bit strange when I am selling my services.
But I’ve decided to write again.
About whatever.
Random stuff.
Because I like it.
And if I write about the things that make me tick, maybe you’ll get a better picture of who I am.
Are you ok with that?

Simon - I love it
Camilla - Absofrickinlutely .
Nathalie - Very ok :)
Solveig - Yes!! With sugar on top, please do!
Tesa - Absolut
Lainey - I think it helps for your clients to know you better, especially since you are going to be with them on one of the most important days of their lives. Be you. Tell your stories. Your clients and readers will appreciate it.
Susie - yep yep. I love reading your stories and looking at your pictures. It’s like a package deal and I love it!
Fiona Andersen - “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind. (Dr Seuss)
Gedas - ok!
Bill Millios - Yes, we’re ok with that.
Tell us your stories. Tell us what makes your soul sing. Tell us the funny moments, the sad moments. Make us laugh and cry along with you.
todd hunter mcgaw - yes.. but in your next ‘I am a writer’ post, you must include the words ‘nautical’ and ‘samurai’ in your story.. these words are good.. :)
Jonas - You always speak the truth, Todd.
Erica Nyberg - I often find that your small notes accompanying the photos in your posts enhances the experience of what’s to come and makes your wonderful photos even more interesting, so I would love to read the stories you feel like sharing on this website.
Cecilia - Yes.
Mitra - I have followed you since you were a silvery fish, and your writing is great and much missed. I agree with above writers; whenever you do add comments to your beautiful photos it enhances it even more.
So go nuts, Jonas. Write.
=)

Rim - They say a picture speaks a thousand words.
So what’s a few more?
(By all means, write!)
Hälsporren - Very OK.
James Moes - Please tell me a story Mr. Peterson.
sui - Yes, yes, yes.
gabe aceves - Yes Jonas. You’re a talented storyteller whether its through your words or your photos. Would love to read more.
Camilla - I’ve so missed your little views and stories! This is very wonderful news.
Something I would enjoy immensely, are more pictures from the sceneries in your world. I have never been down under, in Bali, in LA- some of your wonderful pictures from your side of the world would be so interesting!
Hilsen fra Norge
Malin - Söte tid, vilka foton du tar! Här hoppar man in på en sida, tittar lite och lipar en skvätt över vacker kärlek i dina bilder. Får jag titta in här varje dag?
Emma in London - Yup. Can’t wait to see / read more from you.
Paul Von Rieter - I suppose… only if the stories are as good as the Mc Donalds one you told a little while back. you know, the one with the kid who obviously had turrets.
Taylor Kalander - I am just fine with that. :) carry on.
Fran Paysen - Yes, please more writing, you have a gift Jonas (apart from photography). I long ago bookmarked Cockatoo Boy and read it whenever I need a laugh.
Juana - yep!
Gareth Robins (Auckland Wedding Photographer) - definitely write more
Vanessa - I love your writing, and admittedly have been missing it a little. Your personality really comes out in your writing and along with your brilliant photos (obviously!) it is what makes me want to follow your blog. The photos are but one expression, the writing is a larger part of what makes you one very interesting and cool fellow! More? Yes please.
*Mette* - AB-SO-LUTE-LY!
Louise - Yes, please write. I discovered your blog as I am getting married in Melbourne next March and think that you are the most soulful wedding photographer in the world. Am currently living in student accommodation in London, which while social and central, is dirty and expensive – but to point this out makes you not part of the “gang” boasting of their amazing London experience. Reading Cockatoo Boy, I had one of those “OMG, I am not alone in the world” moments, the highlights of any reading experience for me.
honeyhuckabee - So very ok with that. Write away!! :)
.honeyhuckabee
Mathias - Given that you are one of my inspirations to find a new way to do things and express myself more I say go crazy! Write with the most brutal honesty you can. I will support that every day!!!
flow - same thought: Absofrickinlutely ;)
Carman - Wonderful photos! The compositions, the light and colors are just great!
Thank you for sharing! :)
Josefine - Äntligen!
Anonymous - Äntligen!
{sian & barry} ~ wedding ~ bali
I’m shooting seven weddings in Bali this year, so in many ways it was weird coming back to shoot at the exact same place where I shot my first Bali wedding last year – Villa Pemutih in Padang Padang. It was my very own version of Groundhog Day. Only a million times better. This day is one I can relive for the rest of my life. Yes, sir. Barry and Sian sure know how to throw a party.
