About six months ago I got an email. Rob wrote to tell me he wanted to shoot weddings. And he wanted me to tell him he wasn’t completely out of his mind. Gone completely loopy. Rob was high, high up in the advertising industry, so I could relate to both his concerns about his sanity as well as other things such a wish can affect in life. It’s not easy leaving a high paid job to follow your gut, to do something you feel have meaning. On paper it’s really simple, but in reality it scares you shitless.
I told Rob my story and how I am much happier person today than I ever was working in the advertising industry. I do something I truly enjoy and I also get to make other people happy.
I have found some sort of purpose.
I didn’t want to push Rob in any way, but I think my words struck a chord. I had a feeling Rob would go for it too.
And he did.
Boy did he ever.
Here’s what he did. This is his f i r s t wedding film – the story of an amazing couple and two great cultures coming together.

Firstly, how did he land this as a first job?? a week long indian wedding (ranks up very high on difficulty!) and Rob, if you are listening, my only critique would be to cool it on the film effects and color grading, the only thing that gave away that it was your first wedding, jumped around too much with the color and soft focus effects etc, other than that, not bad for your first time..great narrative.. big up

It’s kind of movie trailer style…but the fact that there is a host of subject matter to shoot. I think I saw at least 10 different events. Not just a single big budget reception.

Ive known Rob a long time, and worked together for many years; Im so happy to see this, and like everyone else here, blown away. Robs always been an insane good storyteller and creative director, but this level of cinematography and editing is world class. Im sure this is the first of many many more. And im really happy he chose to follow his dream and get out of advertising :)

This film is amazing. It’s definitely one of the best wedding videos I’ve ever seen. This guy has got an extremely bright future ahead of him in this field. His team just covered so much so well. It’s really impressive. Also the editing and music flow together beautifully. Starting with the news coverage is a bit of creative genius as well.

Awesome. These new cameras are a huge game-changer for videographers. It’s like all the changes in photographer over a decade happened to videography in a year, and it’s going to cause more changes than we can see.
That was so beautiful and moving. I especially love how many sides the film had. It was touching, deep, and funny, all at different moments. I also think that the images worked beautifully with the song he chose.
