It rained heavily all day at the lovely Deux Belettes in NSW, dark clouds pulled in and wouldn’t go away. I looked outside worried about the planned outdoor ceremony.
“It’s ok, it’s just my mum, she’s showing us she’s here”, Joelene said with a weary smile. She’s been doing this since she passed away, everything she’s done has been rain related, I know she’s here”. Joelene looked down at her hands. I knew her mother had passed away recently and I could see the effect it still had on her and the people around her. I kept shooting, the ceremony was beautiful and everyone sat down for the reception. I stepped out for a second to grab a few shots of the venue. It’s was a beautiful summer night. I looked up and there she was. I went back inside, leaned in and whispered in Joelene’s ear, “I think you’re right, she’s here, let’s go outside”.

I love how there is a quiet stillness to the photos, especially early on. I can feel the moment that you captured in a way that is difficult to explain. I liked the photo of the gardener as well. Made me miss my 45mm TS lens for the first time since I sold it. Great work, as always.
